Abstract
A power control system (100) for a container ship is disclosed. The power control system 100 has a power interface 105 for supplying energy to at least one refurbished container 130 that may be transported by a container vessel. The power control system 100 also has a controller 110 configured to obtain load data indicative of a load on the generator 120 of the container vessel and target load range data indicative of a target load range on the generator 120 . The power control system 100 is configured such that when the load is below the target load range, the controller controls the load such that the load falls within the target load range by increasing the energy supplied to the power interface 105 for storage in the at least one refurbished container. do.
