Abstract
A power control system (100) for a container ship is disclosed. The power control system (100) has a power interface (105) for supplying energy to at least one refrigerated container (130) transportable by a container ship. The power control system (100) also has a controller (110) configured to obtain load data representing a load on a generator (120) of the container ship and target load range data representing a target load range of the generator (120). The power control system (100) is configured to control the load by the controller increasing energy supplied to the power interface (105) for storage at the at least one refrigerated container when the load is below a target load range such that the load falls within the target load range.
