Abstract
Foundation for structures (1). The foundation 1 has a body 2 for insertion into the soil in the direction of insertion during installation. The body 2 has a front heel 8 at its distal end. The forefoot 2 defines an opening 11 into the inner cavity 15. When moving the forefoot 2 through the soil, it is laterally displaced to the displaced soil portion within the inner cavity 15. One or more nozzles 10 are provided for directing fluid to the displaced soil site during installation to transport the soil away from the displaced soil site. A pumping system 24 is also provided for draining fluid from the inner cavity 15 during installation to reduce the soil suspension pressure within the displaced soil site.
