Abstract
A method of manufacturing a wind turbine blade shell component is disclosed. The fibre mats and the root inserts are laid in the mould parts during the laying process by using an automated laying system. The fibre mat is laid by using a buffer roll (38) so that the fibre mat (24) can also be laid continuously on the mould surface during the cutting process. The root end insert is prepared in advance and mounted on the mounting plate. The root insert is lowered onto the mold using a mounting plate and a lowering mechanism. After the wind turbine blade shell has been moulded, the mounting plate is removed.
