Abstract
FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of medicine; it can be used for modulating an immune system of a subject suffering from asthma and/or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (hereinafter – COPD). The use of a composition obtained from bifidobacteria is proposed for modulating an immune system of a subject by influencing the virus activity and/or effects caused by the virus in the specified subject, where the specified bifidobacteria are Bifidobacterium lactis BL-04, where modulating an immune system increases the number of virus-specific T-helper cells, and where the specified subject suffers from asthma and/or COPD. The group of inventions also relates to the application of the specified composition for reducing a risk of development and aggravation of chronic respiratory diseases in a subject suffering from asthma and/or COPD.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides for reducing a risk of development and reducing the severity and aggravation frequency of chronic respiratory diseases, such as asthma and COPD.
