Abstract
The present invention describes a thermal assembly 1 of a wind turbine 2 , which thermal assembly is arranged to lower the temperature of the liquid coolant in the coolant circuit 10 , the external liquid-air heat exchanger 11 , the coolant circuit 10 being arranged to deliver liquid coolant to a plurality of heat dissipating components 23 , 24 during operation of the wind turbine 2 ; and a thermal assembly control arrangement implemented to exclude the external liquid-air heat exchanger 11 from the coolant circuit 10 during an off-grid mode (M self , M wait ) of the wind turbine 2 . It includes a sieve (18). The invention also describes a method of operating a wind turbine 2 in an off-grid mode M self , M wait , the wind turbine 2 comprising one embodiment of such a thermal assembly 1 .
