Abstract
The present invention relates to a process for producing syngas for use in the production of hydrocarbon products, particularly synthetic fuels, the process comprising: providing a hydrocarbon feed stream comprising biogas; optionally purifying the hydrocarbon feed stream in a gas purification unit; optionally pre-reforming the hydrocarbon feed stream together with the steam feed in the pre-reforming unit; performing steam methane reforming in a reforming reactor heated by an electric power source; providing said synthesis gas to a synthesis fuel synthesis unit, preferably a Fischer-Tropsch synthesis unit, for converting the syngas into hydrocarbon products and for producing tail gas. The present invention also relates to a system for producing syngas for use in the production of hydrocarbon products, in particular synthetic fuels.
