Abstract

A hearing aid system comprising a first hearing aid device and a mobile device, wherein each of said devices comprises a transmitting unit and a receiving unit, wherein at least one of said devices comprises: a microphone; a signal processor; a first link quality estimation circuit configured to determine a phase error of a packet transmitted from another device and received by the reception unit and determine a link quality signal based on the phase error; and at least one of the devices is configured to transmit a link quality signal to the other device, and the other device is configured to determine a transmit power level for the information packet based on the link quality signal; at least one of the devices comprises a second link quality estimation circuit configured to determine whether one or more packets are lost and/or to determine a plurality of bit errors, and the second link quality estimation circuit is configured to determine a second link quality signal based on the determined number of lost packets and/or the determined plurality of bit errors.
