Abstract

The present application discloses power management of a low power wireless link in a hearing aid system, wherein the hearing aid system comprises a first hearing aid device and a mobile device, wherein each of the devices comprises a transmitting unit and a receiving unit for establishing a short range wireless link between the devices, wherein at least one of the devices comprises: a microphone configured to receive an acoustic audio signal; a signal processing unit configured to process an audio signal based on the acoustic audio signal; a first link quality estimator, wherein the first link quality estimator is configured to determine a phase error of a packet transmitted from another apparatus and received by the receiving unit and to determine a link quality signal based on the phase error, and wherein at least one of the apparatuses is configured to transmit the link quality signal to the other apparatus, and the other apparatus is configured to determine a transmit power level of the packet based on the link quality signal via a power controller included therein.
