Abstract
The number of items in the weighing pan of the multi-head scale is determined. A set of weight distributions is defined, including a first weight distribution and a second weight distribution. The first weight distribution represents a weight distribution of a first integer number of items and the second weight distribution represents a weight distribution of a second integer number of items. Comparing the weight of the items in the weighing pan with the first weight distribution and the second weight distribution, respectively-the number of items corresponds to the first integer when the weight is within the first weight distribution and the number of items corresponds to the second integer when the weight is within the second weight distribution.
