Abstract
The number of items in the weighing pan of the multi-head scale is determined. A set of weight distributions is defined, including a first weight distribution and a second weight distribution. The first weight distribution represents a weight distribution of a first integer number of articles and the second weight distribution represents a weight distribution of a second integer number of articles. Comparing said weight of said item in said weighing pan with said first weight distribution and said second weight distribution, respectively-said number of items corresponding to said first integer when said weight is within said first weight distribution and said number of items corresponding to said second integer when said weight is within said second weight distribution.
