Abstract
A method and food processing system for dispensing a batch of a specific weight of a food product onto a top surface of a dough base, such as a pizza base, a cake base, etc., at specific time intervals through the food processing system, the system including a dosing mechanism, a weighing system, a conveyor system, and a controller. The method comprises the following steps: i defines a target time interval, the target time interval constituting 40% to 90% of the specific time interval, ii determines the actual weight of the batch received in the container of the weighing system after the target time interval has elapsed, iii determines, depending on the actual weight, a first mode of operation if the actual weight is reached within the target time interval in terms of the target weight, and then continues to operate the first conveyor controlled by the controller at the same speed, or b determines a second mode of operation if the actual weight exceeds the target weight within the target time interval, and then operates the first conveyor controlled by the controller at a reduced speed, or c determines a third mode of operation if the actual weight is below the target weight within the target time interval, and then operates the first conveyor controlled by the controller at an increased speed.
