Abstract
A method and food processing system for dispensing a batch of a specific weight of food product onto a top surface of a dough base, such as a pizza base, a cake base, or the like, at specific time intervals by a food processing system that includes a dosing mechanism, a weighing system, a conveyor system, and a controller. The method comprises the following steps: i. defining a target time interval, said target time interval constituting 40% to 90% of said specific time interval, ii determining an actual weight of the batch received in the container of the weighing system after the target time interval has elapsed, iii depending on the actual weight, a-determining a first mode of operation if the actual weight is reached for the target weight within the target time interval and then continuing to operate the first conveyor controlled by the controller at the same speed, or b-determining a second mode of operation if the actual weight exceeds the target weight within the target time interval and then operating the first conveyor controlled by the controller at a reduced speed, or c-determining a third mode of operation if the actual weight is below the target weight within the target time interval, the first conveyor controlled by the controller is then operated at an increased speed.
