Abstract

Abstract The chapter will cover the mature theories of propositions that Peirce develops in his intense theoretical thrust of 1902–1906, with a brief introduction about propositions through his earlier development. The chapter’s focus will be on the generalizations that the notion of proposition undergoes in the period mentioned, and the resulting prelinguistic, multimodal theory of propositions with a conclusion about its current relevance.
