Abstract

Abstract In recent years, wind power has become one of the most important renewable energy. However, the uncertainty and randomness of wind make wind farm control become a research hotspot all over the world. This paper introduces the basic principle and superior performance of model predictive control (MPC) technology and analyzes the feasibility of its application in wind farm control. This paper introduces in detail the establishment procedure of the MPC model in the wind farm control, which is the mathematical basis of MPC based optimal control of wind farm. Based on this, in order to solve the voltage problem in the operation of the wind farm and the fatigue load problem in the long-term operation of the wind turbines, this paper introduces the power optimization control strategy of the wind farm based on the MPC method and deduces the formula in detail. Finally, the simulation experiments in MATLAB/Simulink environment verify the effectiveness of MPC in wind farm control.
