Abstract
A system for reducing NOx emission levels during the manufacture of a cement clinker, comprising a calciner unit and having the following features: upper part; Lower part; NOx reduction zone in the lower part; A tertiary air inlet for being in the upper part and introducing tertiary air into the upper part; A main calciner material inlet for introducing a portion of the main calciner material into the upper portion and located above the NOx reduction zone; A first cooling calciner material inlet for introducing a portion of the first cooling calciner material into the periphery of the NOx reduction zone and located within the NOx reduction zone; And a fuel inlet located in or below the NOx reduction zone and introducing fuel into the reduction zone.
