Abstract

A toy figurine with a battery compartment (20) for receiving a battery (10) for powering electronic components, the battery compartment (20) comprising: an internal battery receiving space (20') configured to receive a battery (10); a first spring connector (50) disposed at a first end (21) of the battery compartment (20) and having a first electrical contact surface (54) configured to contact the positive terminal (14) of the battery (10) and an end fixedly connected to a wall of the battery compartment (20); a second spring connector (60) disposed at the second end (22) of the battery compartment (20) and having a second electrical contact surface (65) configured to contact the negative terminal (14) of the battery (10) and one end fixedly connected to the wall of the battery compartment (20); and a battery shoulder receiving portion (40) movably arranged in the battery compartment (20) along a longitudinal axis thereof, wherein the battery shoulder receiving portion (40) is attached to a portion of the first spring connector (50); wherein the battery shoulder receiving portion (40) comprises an opening (43) configured to receive a knob (18) protruding from the first end face (16) of the battery (10), the opening (43) being formed in a first surface (41) configured to rest on the first end face (16) of the battery (10), and wherein the first contact surface (54) is recessed relative to a peripheral edge (44) between the opening (43) and the first surface (41) of the battery shoulder receiving portion (40), and wherein cooperating guide elements (26, 46) are formed between a wall (25) of the battery compartment (20) and the battery shoulder receiving portion (40) and are configured to only allow linear translation of the battery shoulder receiving portion (40) relative to the wall (25) in a direction along a longitudinal axis of the battery compartment (20).
