Abstract
DEVICE AND METHOD TO PRODUCE FOOD FOR LIVESTOCK. The invention relates to a device for determining the size distribution of particles in a bulk material, such as ground or crushed grains for animal feed. The device comprises an inlet for receiving at least a part of the bulk material, a sorting mechanism for separating the received bulk material. Said classification mechanism comprises at least a first classification device for classifying said received bulk material into at least two classified partitions wherein the classification device is capable of classifying different particle sizes and said at least two classified partitions have different particle sizes. The invention further comprises a motor or actuator for vibrating said sorting device, a weighing system with at least one sensor for weighing the at least two partitions sorted by said sorting mechanism, and a data output for generating output data indicative of a weight of at least at least two classified partitions so as to allow the calculation of the particle size distribution in the bulk material received at the inlet and thus provide information on the particle size composition of the ground or crushed grain.
