Abstract
A large two-stroke uniflow scavenged turbocharged internal combustion engine configured for reducing ammonia leakage and a method for reducing ammonia leakage of such an engine by: a) operating the auxiliary engine on ammonia as the primary fuel, thereby producing an exhaust gas stream containing NOx and NH3, -b) adjusting the ratio between ammonia and NOx in said exhaust gas stream by adding a controlled NOx stream to the exhaust gas, and-c) subsequently feeding the exhaust gas stream into the SCR.
