SULFUR PASSIVATION FOR ELECTRICALLY HEATED CATALYSIS

A process and reactor system are provided for production of a CO-containing stream. The process comprises the steps of supplying a carbon-containing first feed (1) and an optional co-feed (2) to the electrically-heated reactor (10) and allowing them to undergo a CO- forming reaction, while heating said electrically-heated reactor by means of electrical power; and outletting a CO-containing stream from electrically-heated reactor, wherein the content of sulfur-containing species in the total gas mixture supplied to the electrically-heated reactor – measured in terms of H₂S – is in the range of 1-50ppm.
