Abstract

The present invention provides a method of repairing a wind turbine that includes a gear assembly having a housing component. An inner surface of the housing component defines a bore, and a bearing is housed in the bore. The method comprises drilling a hole from an outer surface of the housing component to the inner surface. The hole is drilled to communicate with a gap created by wear between the housing component and the bearing. The gap is defined between the inner surface of the housing component and an outer surface of the bearing. The method comprises injecting a liquid resin through the hole to fill the gap, and allowing the liquid resin to solidify in the gap prior to resuming operation of the wind turbine.
