Apparatus (10) for use with a foundation (1) having a hollow interior (7) and a tapering section (3). The foundation (1) is for insertion into a soil (6) submerged in water (8). The apparatus (10) comprises a gas delivery feed (10) that is located within the interior of the foundation and generates bubbles of gas (11) in the water (8). The gas delivery feed (10) is configured for location such that, in use, an aerated region of water is created within the tapering section's interior (7) once the tapering section (3) is submerged.
