The invention relates to a cover assembly (10) with a tailpipe cover (12) and a holding element (16) for securing the tailpipe cover (12) to a tailpipe (14). A spring element (22) of the holding element (16) is designed to be bistable. By virtue of the bistability, the spring element (22) can be converted into a first stable shape (24) and a second stable shape. The holding force exerted onto the tailpipe (14) by the spring element (16) is lower in the first stable shape (24) than in the second stable shape. At least one section (18) of the holding element (16) can be secured to the inner face (20) of the tailpipe cover (12). The tailpipe cover (12) has a through-opening (36a, 36b) extending in the radial direction (50), and a section (42) of the holding element (16) can be latched in the through-opening (36a, 36). The tailpipe cover (12) has an additional through-opening (36a, 36b) which extends in the radial direction and in which another section of the holding element (16) can be latched.
